THEME: JESUS IS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

Psalm 97:1-7, Colossians 1:19-20, John 8:12

Psalm 97:1-7New International Version (NIV)

Psalm 97

The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad;
    let the distant shores rejoice.
Clouds and thick darkness surround him;
    righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
Fire goes before him
    and consumes his foes on every side.
His lightning lights up the world;
    the earth sees and trembles.
The mountains melt like wax before the Lord,
    before the Lord of all the earth.
The heavens proclaim his righteousness,
    and all peoples see his glory.

All who worship images are put to shame,
    those who boast in idols—
    worship him, all you gods!

Colossians 1:19-20  New International Version (NIV)

19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

John 8:12New International Version (NIV)

Dispute Over Jesus’ Testimony

12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Today is Epiphany when we remember the Wise Man who followed the star and came to the place where Jesus was born. We also remember how Jesus Christ came as a human and yet He remained God. In Jesus Christ God reveals Himself to the world. Jesus is the true light of the world and He has called us to follow Him and to show His light in the world wherever we are.

JUMAMOSI TAREHE  6 JANUARI   SIKU YA UFUNUO—EPIFANIA

WAZO KUU: YESU NI NURU YA ULIMWENGU

Zaburi 97:1-7, Wakolosai 1:19-20, Yohana 8:12

Zaburi 97:1-7

Moto hutangulia mbele zake, Nao huwateketeza watesi wake pande zote.
Umeme wake uliuangaza ulimwengu, Nchi ikaona ikatetemeka.

Wakolosai 1:19-20

19 Kwa kuwa katika yeye ilipendeza utimilifu wote ukae;
